When I was in 4th grade my mom had a co-worker named Leslie. This lady was so sweet and I loved to hang out with her. One week my parents went on vacation and left me with her for a week. That's where my memory begins.
I don't remember much of that week but I do remember it being the first time I ever seeing a house with a security system or a house being renovated. The other thing that I remember about that week is that I got really sick and Leslie and her husband didn't have any chew-able pills for me to take. I had tried before but had not been able to swallow a pill. They gave me this teeny tiny pill to swallow and it took me forever but I finally did it! I guess I have to think Leslie for widening the variety of pills I can now take.
The reason I thought of Leslie the other day was because of a jacket I saw hanging up in a store. It wasn't a fancy jacket or on a big display. It was a Colorado Rockies jacket. Leslie loved the Rockies. I remember getting a prize for my AR reading points where there was a variety of things we could win. I won Rockies tickets, which thinking back now was weird since we were located around Topeka, KS. Anyway, Leslie was with me and I wanted to impress her so I acted like I loved them, but secretly what did I know about baseball (at the time). I didn't want the tickets to go to waste so I told my mom to give them to Leslie a few days later at the office.
This was kind of a random story, with no point except to point out once again how things relate and remind. Thanks for reading!
